Professional Role(s) and qualifications:
I am a Pediatric Crisis Social Worker in the psychiatric assessment unit at Niagara Health Hospital. The unit I work for is Outpatient Mental Heath-Children’s Clinic. I provide assessments and brief counselling.
The professionals in our centre are Psychiatrists, Social Workers and Mental Health Nurses.
Training CBT-E:
I do not have any training in CBT-E specifically.
Clinical Practice and Supervision:
My clinical interest lies in improving my skills in working with children in a hospital setting. I aim to effectively and ethically support children and youth with eating disorders who come to the hospital. While I have training in CBT, I am particularly interested in learning CBT-E, as it explicitly addresses eating disorders. I am interested in learning CBT-E for Children and Youth and CBT-E techniques that can be modified to be suitable for younger patients, focusing on age-appropriate engagement strategies. I also like to learn methods for involving family members in the treatment.
Research:
I have experience writing a Thesis about children’s mental health in Graduate School. My research interests are related to Children’s Mental Health.
